It is a angiotensin receptor antagonist used for the treatment of hypertension. It is a conjugate acid of a candesartan(2-).|Candesartan is an angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) that may be used alone or with other agents to treat hypertension. It is available as a prodrug in the form of [candesartan cilexetil].|Candesartan is an Angiotensin 2 Receptor Blocker. The mechanism of action of candesartan is as an Angiotensin 2 Receptor Antagonist.|Candesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker used widely in the therapy of hypertension and heart failure.
