APPLICATION

1. Protect the liver

The liver is the main organ responsible for digestion and metabolism in the body. It can biotransform internal and external substances such as drugs, poisons and metabolites, and exert detoxification effects. Silymarin is widely used as one of the drugs for treating liver diseases such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver damage.

2. Antioxidant

Oxygen free radical reactions and lipid peroxidation reactions play an important role in the body's metabolism. Under normal circumstances, they are in a dynamic balance to maintain the body's physiological, biochemical and immune responses. Oxidative stress refers to the imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and anti-ROS in the animal body

3. Anti-inflammatory

Silymarin also has a certain anti-inflammatory effect. Its anti-inflammatory effect is mainly exerted through the following points: 1) Inhibiting signal pathways such as NF-κB, Nrf2, and protein kinase B (Akt), reducing the expression of pro-inflammatory factors, and promoting the expression of anti-inflammatory factors, thereby exerting an anti-inflammatory effect.

4. Regulating lipid metabolism

Silmarin affects lipid metabolism in different ways. Silymarin can inhibit the expression of hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, thereby reducing the synthesis of phospholipids, triglycerides (TG), and cholesterol (CHOL).
