Castor oil is a vegetable oil extracted from castor seeds. At room temperature, it is an almost colorless or slightly yellowish clear viscous liquid with a slight odor and a mild and then slightly pungent taste. Flammable but not flammable, insoluble in water, soluble in eth-anol, benzene and carbon disu-lfide, can be freely mixed with absolute eth-anol, ether, chloroform or glacial ace-tic acid, but insoluble in mineral oil.

1. Used to make laxatives and zinc preparations; medicinal castor oil is a stimulant laxative. It mainly acts on the small intestine and is used for catharsis;
2. Used in the production of seb-acic acid, cold-resistant plasticizers, lubricating oils, spices, penetrants for textile industry, emulsifiers, etc.
3. Leather fatliquor; leather finishing agent, brightener; preparation of sulfated castor oil;
4. Used in the manufacture of Turkish red oil, soap, plastic, lubricating oil, etc.;
5. It is used in the production of daily cosmetics, shoe polish, and medical ointment, and is the raw material for the production of 12-hydroxystearic acid;
6. Used in the manufacture of plasticizers, dibasic acids, polyuretha-ne coatings, rubber, adhesives, fatty acids, surfactants, insulating oils, hydraulic oils, lubricating oils, Turkish red oil, soap, polyamide-11 fibers, etc.
