Solubility: It can be mixed with water in any proportion and can be mixed with ethanol, propanol, benzene, etc. It can dissolve 40.6g of carbon tetrachloride, 20.4g of ether, 17.7g of tetrachloroethylene, 33.0g of toluene in 100mL of triethylene glycol. In addition, triethylene glycol can also dissolve o-dichlorobenzene, phenol, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, dextrin, etc., but cannot dissolve petroleum ether, resin, and oil.

3. Purpose

Solvent and extractant: Can be used as a solvent for aromatic hydrocarbon extraction, as well as a solvent for rubber, nitrocellulose, etc.

Desiccant: Utilizing its hygroscopicity, it can be used for drying gases, etc.

Natural gas dehydration: It is an excellent dehydrating agent for natural gas, oilfield associated gas, and carbon dioxide.

Organic synthesis: used for producing brake oil with high boiling point and good low-temperature performance.

Other industries: It is also widely used in pharmaceuticals, coatings, textiles, printing and dyeing, food, papermaking, cosmetics, leather making, photography, printing, metal processing and other industries, such as as as a moisture absorber and softener in printing inks, and as a cleaning agent in air conditioning systems.
