Introduction

Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is a nonionic cellulose mixed ether made from cotton and wood through alkalization, propylene oxide and methyl chloride etherification. It has good dispersing, emul-sifying, thickening, bonding, water retention and encapsulation properties. It is a thickener, binder, humectant, dispersant, suspending agent,emulsifier and stabilizer. It is widely used in building materials, ceramics, daily chemicals, medicines, coatings and other fields.
