Calcium acetate Anhydrous powder White loose fine powder, odorless, slightly bitter taste, relative density 1.50, easy to absorb moisture, decomposes into CaCO3 and acetone when heated to 160°C, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. Should be stored in a dry, ventilated and clean warehouse, lightly packed, protected from moisture and heat, and protected from rain and moisture during transportation, and should be stacked separately from toxic substances. Chelating agent; mildew inhibitor; stabilizer; buffer; flavor enhancer; preservative; curing agent; nutrition enhancer; pH regulator; processing aid.

Calcium acetate is a chemical compound which is a calcium salt of acetic acid. It has the formula Ca(C2H3O2)2. Its standard name is calcium acetate, while calcium ethanoate is the systematic name. An older name is acetate of lime. The anhydrous form is very hygroscopic; therefore the monohydrate (Ca(CH3COO)2•H2O) is the common form.

Food calcium fortifier

Calcium acetate is a good food calcium fortifier, the absorption effect is better than inorganic calcium. Can be used for infant
food, the amount of 33.0 ~ 6.0g/kg (in terms of element calcium, the same as below); 1.6 ~ 3.2g/kg in cereal and its products.

Industrial

Calcium acetate used in the production of acetone, acetic acid, polyester industry, also used in the synthesis of acetate;also used as an analytical reagent.
Used in the preparation of acetone, acetic acid and acetate, widely used in the polyester industry.
As analytical reagents, chelating agents and corrosion inhibitors, used in printing and dyeing, pharmaceuticals and other fields.
