Brusatol

Brusatol is a highly potent, naturally occurring quassinoid compound extracted from the seeds of Brucea javanica (a traditional Chinese medicinal plant known as Ya-Dan-Zi). It functions primarily as a selective Nrf2 pathway inhibitor and a global protein translation blocker, making it a major subject of research for reversing chemotherapy resistance, suppressing tumors, and combating parasites. 

• Sensitizing Cancer Cells: Cancer cells frequently hijack Nrf2 to synthesize antioxidants (like glutathione), pump out drugs, and survive toxic treatments. By turning off Nrf2, Brusatol strips away this defense shield.
