      Product Introduction

Potassium Amyl Xanthate (Abbr: PAX, CAS: 2720-73-2, EINECS: 220-329-5, HS Code: 2930909090) is a pale yellow to grayish white granular or powdery solid with a characteristic pungent odor, a high-strength xanthate-type anionic flotation collector with the molecular formula C₆H₁₁OS₂K. We supply industrial grade and high purity grade products with stable quality, specially developed for non-ferrous metal mineral processing. It is readily soluble in water, features strong collecting power, moderate selectivity and fast flotation kinetics, and can be used in combination with frothers and other flotation reagents. Widely applied as the core collector for flotation of copper, nickel, gold, lead, zinc and other sulfide ores, as well as complex refractory sulfide ore beneficiation.

    Items Specifications
    Purity ≥90.0% (Industrial) / ≥95.0% (High Purity)
Appearance Pale Yellow to Grayish White Granules / Powder
    Free Alkali (as KOH) ≤0.5%
    Moisture Content ≤10.0%
    Water Insoluble Matter ≤0.2%
    Particle Size 10–30 mesh (customizable)

    Applications
    Sulfide Ore Flotation (Core Application)
The most widely used high-strength collector for flotation of copper, nickel, gold, lead and zinc sulfide ores. It exhibits strong collecting capacity for target sulfide minerals, improves metal recovery rate and concentrate grade, and is especially suitable for complex refractory sulfide ores and precious metal-bearing sulfide ores. It works effectively under both alkaline and neutral pulp conditions, and is the mainstream reagent for non-ferrous metal beneficiation plants.
    Precious Metal Ore Beneficiation
Highly effective for gold-bearing sulfide ores and silver-bearing polymetallic ores. It enhances the flotation recovery of gold and silver associated with pyrite and chalcopyrite, significantly increases precious metal yield, and is widely used in gold mines and polymetallic mines to improve comprehensive metal recovery benefits.
    Nickel & Cobalt Ore Processing
Ideal collector for nickel sulfide ores, cobalt sulfide ores and copper-nickel bulk flotation processes. It achieves efficient bulk flotation of copper-nickel sulfide minerals with strong collecting performance, reduces reagent dosage, and improves the separation index of nickel-cobalt concentrates.
    Complex Polymetallic Ore Separation
Applied in differential flotation processes for complex lead-zinc, copper-zinc and copper-lead-zinc ores. When used in combination with depressants and modifiers, it realizes selective separation of target minerals, improves concentrate grade, and meets the beneficiation requirements of various complex ore types.
    Secondary Resource Recovery
Used for flotation recovery of valuable metals from smelting slag, tailings and electronic waste. It effectively collects sulfide components in secondary resources, improves metal recovery rate, and supports resource recycling and waste reduction in metallurgical and mining industries.
    Other Industrial Applications
Can be used as rubber vulcanization accelerator in small amounts, and as precipitant in wet metallurgy and heavy metal wastewater treatment processes. It also serves as an intermediate for the synthesis of certain fine chemical products.

    Product Advantages
✅ Strong collecting power: Higher flotation activity than lower alkyl xanthates, excellent recovery effect for refractory sulfide ores and precious metal ores
✅ Stable product quality: Strict control of purity, free alkali and moisture, consistent flotation performance between batches, suitable for large-scale continuous beneficiation production
✅ Good water solubility: Dissolves quickly in water, easy to prepare and dose, supports automatic reagent feeding system in mineral processing plants
✅ Grade & form options: Industrial and high purity grades available, granular and powder forms to match different feeding and storage requirements
✅ Wide application adaptability: Suitable for various sulfide ore types and pulp conditions, compatible with most common flotation frothers and modifiers
✅ Cost-effective performance: Moderate dosage with high recovery rate, effectively improves beneficiation efficiency and reduces comprehensive reagent cost

    Packaging & Storage
Standard packaging: 25kg woven bags with inner PE liner, or 110kg / 120kg sealed iron drums for better moisture protection; 500kg / 1000kg sealed FIBC bags available for bulk orders. The product is hygroscopic and easily decomposes in case of moisture and acid. Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse at below 30°C. Keep containers tightly sealed, strictly moisture-proof, and stored separately from acids, oxidants, food raw materials and open flames. Shelf life is 12 months under proper sealed storage conditions.
    Safety Information
Classified as hazardous substance for transportation (UN 3342, Class 4.2). It decomposes to release flammable and toxic carbon disulfide gas when encountering acids and high temperature, which may cause combustion and explosion risks. Dust is irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Wear protective goggles, dust mask and rubber gloves during handling. Operate in a well-ventilated area, keep away from fire sources and acidic substances. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention if necessary. Complete MSDS and relevant qualification certificates are available upon request.
