1. Physical Properties
The pure compound is a white crystal; the industrial grade is typically a colorless to pale yellow viscous liquid. It is highly hygroscopic and tends to crystallize at temperatures below 28°C. It is miscible with water, methanol, ethanol, and acetone; slightly soluble in benzene and diethyl ether; and insoluble in carbon tetrachloride and heptane.
2. Chemical Properties
It exhibits the chemical properties of both secondary amines and alcohols. Its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline; it reacts with acids to form salts and with fatty acids to form amides. When heated, it decomposes, releasing toxic nitrogen oxide fumes, and it reacts with strong oxidizing agents. It is slightly corrosive to copper and aluminum, has virtually no corrosive effect on carbon steel, and can form complexes with various metal ions.
3. Main Applications
(1) Gas Purification: Serves as a highly efficient absorbent for acidic gases such as CO₂, H₂S, and SO₂, and is used in the purification of coke oven gas and industrial exhaust gases; it is reusable.
(2) Surfactants: Used directly as a nonionic surfactant, emulsifier, and thickener in formulations for detergents, shampoos, and softeners for leather and synthetic fibers.
(3) ‌Pesticides and Organic Synthesis‌: It is a key synthetic intermediate for the herbicide glyphosate and is also used in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals, such as cyclophosphamide, making it an important raw material for organic synthesis.
(4)‌Industrial Corrosion Inhibition and Processing‌: It is added as a corrosion inhibitor to boiler water treatment systems, automotive engine coolants, and cutting oils, and can also serve as a complexing agent in electroplating processes such as silver and zinc plating.

The product strictly complies with the GB/T 2961-2014 national standard, accompanied by a complete set of MSDS, commodity inspection reports, and hazardous packaging certificates, and meets EU REACH import and export requirements. Standard packaging includes 200 kg galvanized closed-top steel drums and 1,000 L IBC containers. For large volumes, bulk transport via tank containers is available. Storing and transporting the product in a sealed, light-protected environment effectively delays oxidation and discoloration. Supply is stable and ample, supporting full-container and consolidated shipments for international trade, and meeting global chemical procurement and custom fine chemical production needs.
