      Product Detail

High purity Antimony Trioxide (ATO) with CAS number 1309-64-4 is the most widely used synergistic flame retardant auxiliary chemical material, refined through stibnite calcination oxidation and multi-stage impurity removal process, supplied in three purity grades to satisfy the procurement demands of global plastic, wire cable, rubber, coating, textile and optical glass manufacturing enterprises. This inorganic oxide powder occupies an irreplaceable core position in the fire safety raw material supply chain due to its unmatched halogen synergistic flame retardant mechanism and stable processing performance.

Physically, the product presents fluffy bright white fine crystal powder without peculiar odor; it will turn faint yellow under continuous heating above 400℃ and recover pure white after cooling down. Chemically, antimony trioxide shows superior chemical inertness under normal temperature, nearly insoluble in pure water and neutral aqueous solution, while dissolvable in concentrated strong acid and strong alkali to generate antimony salt intermediates. Its melting point reaches 655℃ with stable thermal performance, so it will not decompose or lose flame retardant activity during high-temperature plastic granulation, injection molding and rubber vulcanization procedures.

The core functional advantage of ATO lies in its powerful synergistic flame retardant effect when compounded with brominated or chlorinated flame retardants. During material combustion, halogen additives release hydrogen halide gas, which reacts rapidly with antimony trioxide to generate volatile antimony trihalide and antimony oxyhalide molecules. These substances enter the flame combustion zone and capture high-energy free radicals (H•, OH•) to cut off flame chain reactions, effectively extinguishing open fire. Meanwhile, ATO promotes dense carbon layer formation on the material surface to isolate oxygen and heat, significantly reducing molten dripping and toxic smoke release during burning, helping plastic and rubber products pass UL94 V-0 vertical combustion testing standard with less halogen flame retardant addition, directly cutting downstream raw material comprehensive cost.
Our 99.8% high whiteness grade antimony trioxide strictly controls trace heavy metal impurities including lead, arsenic and iron to ppm levels, with uniform particle size and excellent dispersion performance. When applied in plastic masterbatch and fireproof coating, it will not cause film surface black spots, discoloration and agglomeration defects, maintaining high surface gloss and mechanical strength of finished products. For wire and cable factories, adding ATO into PVC and PE insulation layers greatly enhances long-term high-temperature aging resistance and salt spray corrosion resistance of cables, suitable for construction, new energy and electronic wiring products. In textile finishing workshops, ATO water-based slurry evenly coats fabric fiber surfaces to form permanent fire-resistant protective layer for curtains, protective clothing and carpet textiles. Besides flame retardant application, ATO also acts as opacifier and whitening agent in ceramic glaze production to lift glaze flatness and luster, and clarifying auxiliary raw material for high refractive optical glass.
    • Multiple purity options for different industries; high-purity ATO features ≥99.8% Sb₂O₃ content, ultra-low heavy metal impurities, high whiteness above 95%
    • Excellent halogen-synergistic flame retardant effect, greatly reduces dosage of brominated/chlorinated flame retardants and lowers production cost
    • Good thermal stability at 655℃ melting point, no decomposition during plastic high-temperature extrusion and injection molding
    • Narrow particle size distribution, loose texture, outstanding dispersibility without agglomeration in water-based and oil-based systems
    • Inhibits combustion free radicals, effectively suppresses smoke and molten dripping during burning, meets international fire safety standards
    • Complete inspection documents: ICP-MS impurity test report, COA, MSDS, customs declaration certification
    • Flexible supply: small lab trial samples and ton bulk industrial orders with stable spot inventory
