    N-Boc-1,3-diaminopropane is a monoprotected diamine compound with the molecular formula C₈H₁₈N₂O₂ and a molecular weight of 174.24 g/mol. This colorless to pale yellow clear liquid features a three-carbon chain with a free primary amine at one end and a Boc-protected amine at the other, providing a versatile building block for selective functionalization in organic synthesis. The compound's monoprotected nature allows for orthogonal protection strategies, enabling sequential reactions at the two amine sites.     Synthetic Process

    N-Boc-1,3-diaminopropane is synthesized through the following routes:

    • Boc protection of 1,3-diaminopropane: 1,3-Diaminopropane is reacted with di-tert-butyl dicarbonate (Boc₂O) in a controlled stoichiometry to selectively protect one amine group.
