TEXTILE GRADE SODIUM ALGINATE FOR REACTIVE DYE PRINTING

    PRODUCT OVERVIEW

FSX Textile Grade Sodium Alginate is a water-soluble textile printing thickener developed for reactive dye printing on cotton, viscose, linen and other cellulosic fabrics.

As an important raw material for reactive printing paste, sodium alginate helps control paste viscosity, printing rheology and screen-running performance. The appropriate sodium alginate grade can support clear printing outlines, good color penetration, stable paste performance and efficient wash-off after printing and fixation.

Our textile grade sodium alginate is suitable for textile printing mills, printing paste manufacturers, textile chemical distributors and formulators looking for a reliable sodium alginate printing thickener with consistent batch-to-batch quality.

    KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

    1. Suitable for Reactive Dye Printing

This textile grade sodium alginate is designed for the preparation of reactive dye printing paste. It can be used for printing on cotton, viscose, linen and other suitable cellulosic fabrics.

    1. Controlled Printing Rheology

The product provides the viscosity and rheological behavior required for textile printing paste. Proper paste rheology helps control paste transfer during the printing process and supports consistent printing performance.

    1. Clear Printing Outlines

A properly selected sodium alginate printing thickener can help reduce spreading and support sharp pattern edges, fine lines and clear printing definition.

    1. Stable Paste Performance

The product is designed to provide stable viscosity during paste preparation and printing. Stable printing paste helps reduce production variations and supports repeatable printing results.

    1. Good Screen-Running Performance

The sodium alginate paste can be used in flat screen printing and rotary screen printing. The appropriate viscosity grade should be selected according to screen mesh, printing equipment, fabric construction and pattern requirements.

    1. Good Color Performance

Proper paste preparation and process control can support good dye transfer, color yield and printing uniformity. Final color performance depends on the dye formulation, fabric pretreatment, fixation conditions and washing process.

    1. Easy Wash-Off

Sodium alginate is widely used as a reactive dye printing thickener because the unfixed paste can be removed during the washing process. Correct washing conditions help produce a cleaner fabric surface and a softer hand feel.

    1. Consistent Quality Control

FSX Chemical controls important product parameters such as appearance, viscosity, pH, moisture, particle size and insoluble matter according to the selected product grade and agreed specifications.

    MAIN APPLICATIONS

FSX Textile Grade Sodium Alginate can be used in:

    • Reactive dye printing on cotton fabric
    • Reactive printing on viscose and rayon
    • Printing on linen and other cellulosic fibers
    • Flat screen textile printing
    • Rotary screen textile printing
    • Hand screen printing
    • Preparation of reactive printing stock paste
    • Textile printing paste formulation
    • Textile printing chemical distribution
    • Industrial textile printing production

    TYPICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The following parameters should be confirmed according to the selected grade and official Technical Data Sheet:

Appearance: Off-white to light yellow powder
    Grade: Textile Printing Grade
Viscosity: Different viscosity grades are available
pH Value: According to the selected grade
Moisture: According to the selected grade
Water-Insoluble Matter: According to the selected grade
Particle Size: According to the selected grade
    Application: Reactive dye textile printing
    Packaging: 25 kg per bag

Different printing machines, screen meshes, fabrics and printing patterns may require different viscosity grades. Please provide your target viscosity, testing method and printing conditions so that we can recommend a suitable grade.

    RECOMMENDED PASTE PREPARATION

    1. Add the required amount of clean water to the mixing tank.

    2. Start agitation and gradually add the sodium alginate powder. Avoid adding the powder too quickly, as rapid addition may cause lump formation.

    3. Continue mixing until the sodium alginate is evenly dispersed.

    4. Allow sufficient hydration time to obtain a uniform and stable stock paste.

    5. Add reactive dyes and other required printing auxiliaries according to the printing formulation.

    6. Adjust the final viscosity according to the fabric, printing method, screen mesh, pattern and production requirements.

    7. Conduct laboratory testing before large-scale production.

The exact dosage should be determined through practical testing. It can be affected by sodium alginate viscosity, dye concentration, fabric absorbency, printing equipment, screen specification and the required printing definition.

    SUITABLE PRINTING PROCESSES

    Flat Screen Printing

The product can be selected for flat screen reactive printing where paste transfer, screen performance and printing definition are important.

    Rotary Screen Printing

Suitable viscosity grades can support continuous rotary screen printing. The final grade should be selected according to machine speed, screen mesh, fabric construction and paste formulation.

    Reactive Printing Paste Preparation

The sodium alginate can be used as the main thickening component in reactive printing paste formulations. Compatibility testing with dyes and auxiliaries is recommended before production.

WHY USE SODIUM ALGINATE IN REACTIVE PRINTING?

Sodium alginate is widely used in reactive dye textile printing because it provides effective thickening performance while supporting the requirements of reactive printing processes.

Compared with an unsuitable thickener, a properly selected sodium alginate grade can help improve printing paste control, reduce pattern spreading, support clear outlines and facilitate washing after fixation.

The final result depends not only on the textile printing thickener but also on fabric pretreatment, dye quality, paste formulation, printing equipment, drying, steaming, washing and finishing conditions.

    QUALITY CONTROL

FSX Chemical operates its own research and development laboratory and textile printing application laboratory.

Raw materials, production processes and finished products are inspected according to established quality control procedures. Each production batch can be supplied with the applicable product documentation, including a Technical Data Sheet, Safety Data Sheet and Certificate of Analysis.
