Mechanism:A novel long-acting, acylated amylin (islet amyloid polypeptide, IAPP) analog consisting of 38 amino acids. Cagrilintide activates the amylin receptor (AMYR) and calcitonin receptor (CTR), reducing food intake, delaying gastric emptying, and promoting satiety. Being developed as monotherapy and in fixed-dose combination with semaglutide (CagriSema) for obesity. Administered once weekly.
Activity note:Cagrilintide is a non-selective AMYR/CTR agonist. Specific EC50 values not publicly available; functional potency is comparable to native amylin at AMYR.
