Potassium chloride is an important fertilizer required for plant growth, with fast fertilizer efficiency and ability to be absorbed by the soil, making it less prone to loss. Applying an appropriate amount of potassium fertilizer can make crop stems grow solid, prevent lodging, promote flowering and fruiting, enhance drought resistance, cold resistance, disease resistance, and insect pest resistance, and is of great significance for high agricultural yield. Germany used it as the main potassium fertilizer in 1861 and maintained its monopoly in production for a long period of time. Potassium chloride is also a major agricultural potassium fertilizer variety in China. Due to its abundant mineral resources, simple production methods, high potassium content, and low cost, potassium chloride is still the most important potassium fertilizer variety in the world, accounting for over 90% of global potassium fertilizer sales, of which 50% is directly applied, and the rest is mainly used to manufacture compound (mixed) fertilizers.
