Product Description

Potassium chloride (potassium chloride) is an inorganic chloride. [8] Its chemical formula is KCI, and its molecular weight is 74.55. It is usually a colorless cubic crystal. The melting point is 790℃, the boiling point is 1500℃, and the density is 1.988g/cm³. It is easy to agglomerate. It is easily soluble in water, and its solubility increases with the increase of temperature. The aqueous solution is neutral and has a salty taste. It is slightly soluble in glycerin, slightly soluble and insoluble in ether, concentrated acid, and acetone. It can undergo a displacement reaction with metallic sodium at a high temperature of 850℃, and react with concentrated to form potassium and hydrogen chloride.

Application

1. Agricultural Fertilizer
As the main source of potassium chloride (MOP), it provides essential potassium elements for crops, effectively enhancing the strength of crop stems, improving disease resistance and stress tolerance (such as drought resistance and cold resistance), and playing a key role in fruit enlargement, color transformation, and sweetness enhancement, significantly increasing the final yield.
2. Food Industry
As a food additive (E508), it is the core component in the production of low-sodium salt, helping consumers reduce sodium intake. It is also used as a yeast nutrient in fermented foods, a meat humectant, and a gelling agent, and is widely applied in health foods, canned foods, milk powder, and sports drinks.
3. Pharmaceuticals
It is used in the preparation of intravenous infusions, effectively treating and preventing hypokalemia. It is also the main raw material for oral potassium supplements, strictly following USP/BP/EP pharmacopoeia standards to ensure absolute safety and bioavailability.
4. Industrial Uses
It is used in oil drilling fluids, quenching media in metal heat treatment, water softeners (replacing sodium chloride, which is more plant-friendly), and as an important raw material for manufacturing other potassium chemicals.
