Zirconium oxychloride octahydrate Use and Manufacturing
Used as a raw material for making zirconium dioxide. It is also used as a processing agent for rubber additives, paint desiccants, refractory materials, ceramics, glazes and fibers. A special grade reagent of octahydrate (JIS K 8210-61) is commercially available. The content of ZrOCl2·8H2O is more than 990%. It can be used directly as a general purpose. In order to remove the adsorbed trace water, it can be washed with absolute ethanol and air-dried in the middle of filter paper.
