Pigment Blue 63 Use and Manufacturing
Aluminum lakes are formed by the reaction of pigment substances with alumina in the state of an aqueous solution. Alumina is an undried product just prepared by reacting aluminum sulfate or aluminum chloride with sodium carbonate or sodium bicarbonate or ammonia. After the lake is formed, it is filtered, washed with water and dried.
Eat blue pigment. Used alone or in combination with powdered foods, oil products, sugar-coated cakes, etc. Because aluminum lakes become soluble under acidic and alkaline conditions, their use is limited. It is also used for coloring printing inks, toys, tableware, etc. of food packaging materials.
