4-Amino-3-bromopyridine Use and Manufacturing

To the mixture of 4-aminopyridine (20.0g, 0.21mol) and acetonitrile (300.0mL), NBS (39.8g, 0.22mol) was added in batches at 0°C avoiding light. Subsequently, the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24h. After completion of reaction as indicated by thin layer chromatography (TLC), the mixture was then cooled and filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography (silica, dichloromethane/methanol, 20:1) to afford the desired compound 1 as a light yellow solid (33.2g, 91.4percent). MS (ESI) m/z: 172.9 [M+H]EXAMPLE 6
