1. Cefoxitin sodium kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, and due to the structural characteristics of this product, it has a high resistance to β-lactamase produced by bacteria. The following common clinical Gram-positive, Gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic pathogens are highly sensitive to this product. (1) Aerobic bacteria, Gram-positive cocci. Staphylococci (including coagulase-positive, coagulase-negative and penicillinase-producing strains), group A beta-hemolytic streptococci, group B beta-hemolytic streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and group D streptococci among other streptococci. (2) Gram-negative cocci: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis. (3) Gram-negative bacilli: Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus (indole-positive). (4) Proteus vulgaris.
