AMMONIUMSULFITE Use and Manufacturing
In the absorption method, water or recycled mother liquor absorbs sulfur dioxide in the tail gas of sulfuric acid production, and then reacts with ammonia (or ammonia water) to obtain liquid ammonium sulfite. 2NH3+SO2+H2O→(NH4)2SO3
Mainly used in the paper industry, and secondly as a raw material for the production of rapid developer ammonium thiosulfate, used as a reducing agent and sulfonating agent in organic synthesis. Raw materials for the production of daily chemical curling liquid.
