Hydrazine hydrate (1:1) Use and Manufacturing
In the urea method, sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide are mixed into a solution at a certain ratio, and a mixed solution of urea and a small amount of potassium permanganate is added while stirring, and the mixture is heated directly to steam at 103~104℃ for oxidation reaction. The reaction solution contains hydrazine. 20 g/L, 40% hydrazine hydrate is prepared by distillation, fractionation and vacuum concentration, and then 80% hydrazine hydrate is obtained by dehydration of caustic soda and distillation under reduced pressure. The NH2ONH2+NaC1O+2NaOH→N2H4?H20+NaC1+Na2CO3 ammonia method uses ammonia and sodium hypochlorite as raw materials. Add 0.1% bone glue in ammonia to prevent excessive decomposition of hydrazine. According to the molar ratio of sodium hypochlorite to sodium hypochlorite (50 ~ 60): 1, quickly add ammonia water, under strong stirring at normal pressure or high pressure for oxidation reaction, first generate chloramine, and then continue to produce hydrazine. Ammonia is recovered from the reaction solution by distillation, and sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide are removed by vacuum distillation. The evaporated gas is condensed into low-concentration hydrazine, and then hydrazine hydrate with different concentrations is prepared by fractional distillation. Its NH3+NaOCl→NH2Cl+NaOHNH2C1+NH3+NaOH→NH2?NH2+NaCl+H2O
Hydrazine hydrate is used as a reducing agent in synthetic and analytical reactions and as a solvent for many inorganic compounds. It also is used with methanol as a propellant for rocket engines. Another application is catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide.
