Drug Function and Efficacy

Fusultiamine is a new derivative of vitamin B1. It is rapidly converted into active thiamine in the body and is not decomposed by thiaminase in the body. It has strong affinity for tissues, high concentrations in organs and blood, and can be maintained for a long time. It has the characteristics of high efficiency, long-term effect, and low toxicity. Like vitamin B1, active thiamine combines with pyrophosphate in the body to form a coenzyme, which participates in the oxidative decarboxylation reaction of pyruvate and a-ketoglutaric acid in sugar metabolism and is necessary for sugar metabolism. When it is deficient, oxidation is blocked to form pyruvate, lactic acid accumulates, and affects the body's energy supply. Its symptoms are mainly manifested in the nervous and cardiovascular systems, with multiple peripheral neuritis affecting both sensory nerves and motor nerves, manifested as paresthesia, neuralgia, limb weakness, and muscle soreness and atrophy.
