Drug Function and Efficacy

It acts on the lower brain stem of the central nervous system, inhibits multi-synaptic reflexes, blocks nerve conduction from abnormally excited muscles, and produces muscle relaxation. It also acts on the higher centers of the cerebral cortex and has a weak sedative effect.
