2-Amino-5-methylpyridine Use and Manufacturing
The preparation method is to add trimethylamine and 3-methylpyridine-N-oxide to dichloromethane, cool to 5°C, add dichloromethane solution of sulfoxide chloride, stir over the liquid, and evaporate the solvent to obtain ( 5-methylpyridin-2-yl)trimethylammonium chloride, and then add hydrobromic acid to crack the product at 200~210℃.
2-Amino-5-methylpyridine is an intermediate of the insecticides imidacloprid and acetamiprid.
