Drug Function and Efficacy
This product has two thiol groups, which can be complexed with metals to form non-toxic complexes that are not easily dissociated and excreted in urine. Dithiol compounds have a greater affinity for metals and can capture metals that have been bound to enzymes, thereby restoring enzyme activity. Since the complexes formed by dithiol drugs with metals still have a certain degree of dissociation, if the excretion is slow, the dissociated dithiol compounds can be quickly oxidized, and the free metals can still produce poisoning. Therefore, this product needs to be repeatedly administered in sufficient amounts in case of metal poisoning.
