1,4-Benzenedimethanol Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is obtained by hydrolysis of p-phenylene dimethyl chloride. Add p-phenylene dimethyl chloride, sodium carbonate and water into the reactor, use industrial alcohol as emulsifier, heat up to below 90°C, stir and react for 3 hours to obtain the finished product. The yield is over 85%.

Uses

Organic synthesis intermediate. Used to produce soluble polybenzene.
