2-Methoxy-4,6-dichloropyrimidine Use and Manufacturing
Step 2; 4, 6-dichloro-2-methoxy-pyrimidine; 2-Methoxy-pyrimidine-4, 6-diol was dissolved in phosphorous oxychloride and the resultant reaction mixture was refluxed for four hours. After quenching with basic ice-water, the resultant aqueous mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate and the combined extracts dried Step 2: 4, 6-dichloro-2-methoxypyrimidine; 2.25 g (7.92 mmol) 2-methoxypyrimidine-4, 6-diol and 10.0 mL (108.92 mmol) phosphorus oxychloride were boiled for 2 h. The reaction mixture was poured onto alkaline ice water and made alkaline with NaOH. The aqueous phase was extracted with DCM. The organic phase was separated off, dried and evaporated down i.vac.Yield: 0.20 g (14percent of theory)ESI-MS: m/z=179 (M+H)
