Zinc lactate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

In the double decomposition method, 13.0 g of calcium lactate (pentahydrate) and 12.1 g of zinc sulfate (heptahydrate) were added to 100 mL of water, and the mixture was stirred and heated to reflux. After the reaction was completed, it was filtered while hot and washed with water to remove the calcium sulfate precipitate (light blue-white powder). The filtrate was a milky white translucent liquid. After cooling and standing, white crystals precipitated. Finally, filter, wash with water, and dry to obtain 8g of white powder (melting point: 276-27 7℃) with a yield of 64%. (C3H503)2Ca+ZnSO4→ (C3H5O3)2 Zn+CaSO4↓ Neutralization method Add zinc oxide powder to the finished lactic acid solution and heat to stir for 2 to 3 hours. The reactants are cooled and crystallized, filtered and separated, and washed with water several times, then The finished product is dried at 60~65℃. This method has simple process and good quality, but the cost is high. 2C3H6O3+ZnO→(C3H5O3)2Zn+H2O
