Silab launches Deolya natural deodorant for skin care
Silab's newest active ingredient, Deolya, is a natural deodorant that combines hygiene and skin care to relieve underarm irritation.
According to the company, the active enhances barrier function and reduces inflammation, significantly reducing the frequency of underarm discomfort every day and for 28 days after shaving or hair removal.
Silab conducted two independent studies related to the development of Deolya. The first concern was Staphylococcus hominis. The company developed a modeling study demonstrating that Streptococcus hominis strains sampled from the axillary microbiomes of physically active body odor test subjects experienced changes in increased numbers and enzymatic activity compared to odorless samples. In response, Deolya limits the excess abundance of Streptococcus hominis in the axillary skin microbiota and targets the enzyme activity of this bacterial species.
In the second study, a group study involving white men and women participating in physical activity, Deoyla reduced sweat odor by 58% since first application, according to the company. This deodorizing efficacy was evaluated by an olfactory panel of experts qualified in sensory measurements and confirmed at a molecular level by a 76.3% reduction in malodorous 3M3SH thiols. These effects were also observed after 7 days of daily use and without having applied the deodorant in the morning before physical activity.
