Kaneke supplies raw materials to Fujifilm to increase production of Avigan
On April 16, in response to the new crown epidemic, Minoru Tanaka, President of Osaka International Chemical Manufacturing Company Kaneke, has reached an agreement with Kenji Sukeno, President of Fujifilm Japan, and decided to supply Fujifilm with the production of the anti-influenza drug Avigan® tablets (generic drug name: Fapiravir) required API.
As the new crown epidemic continues to spread, the Japanese government has decided to expand Avigan's hoarding to 2 million people because of its potential to effectively combat the new crown virus. Prior to this, Fujifilm has expanded its production system to increase production of Avigi.
Kaneke said that the company is required to provide Avigan's APIs as a major supplier. It will invest capital, mobilize personnel, and adjust production plans to urgently improve the manufacturing system and start supplying related drugs in July.
