In an epidemic situation, these natural materials can protect your body and mind
The stress and fear caused by the novel coronavirus epidemic may damage consumers' mental health, which in turn affects the health of the immune system. At present, many researchers and food companies are looking for ingredients that can improve consumers' mental health.
Researchers are studying the relationship between food and positive emotions and cognitive function. It is scientifically believed that the precursor of serotonin L-tryptophan helps to suppress depression and anxiety. A recent study conducted by a Japanese research team found that daily supplementation of 0.14 ~ 3.0g of L-tryptophan "expects to improve the mood of healthy consumers", but it has no significant effect on some irritability. A recent study published in the British Journal of Nutrition shows that healthy 12 to 17-year-olds eat wild blueberries to reduce depression.
Food and beverage market research company Innova Market Insights reports that physical and mental health is equally important to consumers. A 2018 survey showed that 80% of consumers believe that mental health is as important as physical health. In China, the United States and Brazil, 90% of consumers hold this view. In the 2019 consumer survey, 32% of British consumers and 39% of American consumers said they would feel stressed at least once a day.
To this end, the industry provides products that improve mood. German natural ingredients company Vital Solutions provides two products: Benegut and Bluenesse. The perilla extract contained in Benegut can be used to relax the bronchial system. Bluenesse is made from the extract of lemon balm. Both have a "direct effect on improving mood and cognitive health. ", And improve the pressure resistance.
The Indian natural raw material company Arjuna Natural's Ashwagandha extract Shoden contains 35% ashwagandha lactones, which can relieve anxiety and stress. The company claims that its flagship turmeric product BCM-95 not only has anti-inflammatory capabilities, but also can promote mood And cognitive health.
The Spanish biotechnology company Pharmactive's saffron extract affron also has the effect of improving mood, relaxing body and mind and improving sleep quality. Pharmactive's ABG10 + black garlic extract is currently awaiting review by the European Food and Safety Authority (EFSA). The company claims that the product can relieve fatigue, reduce stress, enhance vitality and improve immunity.
