Brenntag expands cooperation with Arkema to develop new products
From December 1, 2019, Brenntag has become a distributor of epoxy soybean oil and other special epoxides (trade names Vikoflex® and Vikolox®).
Vikoflex® is a series of epoxy plasticizers made from renewable resources and can be used as acid scavengers, additives, reactive diluents and viscosity modifiers. The production process of Vikoflex® uses soybean oil and other vegetable oils as key raw materials. Vikolox® can be used in many different products, such as acid scavengers, functional intermediates and reactive diluents.

Oxygénés and general manager of derivative products Linda Myrick of Arkema North America explained, "Brenntag Specialties holds an important position in the CASE market .The resources and expertise they have can ensure that end users get the most benefit from our epoxy product line. This enables them to ensure efficient logistics throughout the United States, marketing on the Internet, and sufficient technical capabilities to support Vikoflex ® and Vikolox® new product development. Therefore, Arkema ’s commitment to safety, operations and commercial excellence can enhance the capabilities of Brenntag Specialties. "
Arkema is located near a soybean oil producer in Bloom Prairie, Minnesota, and has been developing new uses of epoxy soybean oil since the 1960s. The plant produces more than twenty finished products, many of which are green and sustainable, and uses soybean oil from midwestern growers to support the local economy.
