Brenntag and Cambrium to Launch Skin-Identical Vegan Collagen in European Markets
Brenntag announces a strategic partnership with Cambrium, an innovative biotech company that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and biology to engineer novel, highly effective active ingredients.
The collaboration will bring Novacoll™, a micro-molecule, 100% skin-identical vegan collagen, to the beauty and personal care space in the UK and Ireland, Iberia, France and Italy.
Produced through precision fermentation, Novacoll™ is vegan, cruelty-free and sustainable. Its micro-molecular structure delivers powerful effects on all layers of the skin, making it suitable for a wide range of skin care applications. By incorporating Novacoll™ into formulations, brands can offer consumers scientifically advanced solutions that support the skin’s natural structure and promote a younger, more vibrant appearance.
Patrick Koch, European Sales Director for Beauty & Care at Brenntag Specialties, said: "This innovative ingredient meets the growing consumer demand for sustainable and effective skincare solutions. Our Beauty & Care Innovation and Application Centers across Europe are ready to provide customers with customized formulations, including Novacoll™, and our experienced Technical Service Managers are dedicated to addressing individual needs and questions regarding vegan collagen. We look forward to exploring further opportunities with Cambrium to bring trendsetting products to market."
Dr. Lucile Bonnin, Head of Personal Care at Cambrium, added: "It's amazing to see how well the market has responded to our concept of AI-designed active ingredients. We are excited to work with Brenntag and its team of skilled technical experts to bring Novacoll™ and other products to more innovators and formulators in the region - this partnership is a great example of how we can turn molecular innovation into big impact!"
