Sinopec to expand ABS plant capacity with total investment of $780 million
The Caoqiao Petrochemical Plant has already built 200,000t/a phenol acetone plant, 100,000t/a styrene butadiene rubber plant and 200,000t/a ABS plant. Based on the analysis of the ABS market and the evaluation of the on-site production facilities, Gaoqiao Petrochemical plans to increase the production capacity of ABS to 300,000t/a. There are three production lines in the existing ABS plant, and the ABS production technology of DOW Chemical Company, USA is the more advanced production technology, and the project plans to replicate one ABS production line (line #4) with the existing production technology, while The project is planned to replicate one ABS production line (line #4) with the existing production technology, and at the same time, increase the existing ABS production capacity to the design capacity of the plant by increasing the effective production time, with each production line producing 75,000t/a at full load, and the total production capacity of the four production lines will be 300,000t/a after completion.
The total investment of the project is about 778,520,000 RMB, of which the investment in environmental protection is about 4,147,000 RMB, accounting for 0.53% of the total construction investment of the project. The construction period is 8 months, and the construction is expected to start from May 2023 and finish in January 2024.
