Dow launches a new type of fast curing silicone adhesive
Recently, Dow launched a new type of DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast curing adhesive, which is an advanced primerless silicone adhesive, which can be cured quickly without heating, thereby improving productivity and reducing household appliances and automobiles. Energy consumption in the production of electronics, lighting and avionics. This innovative new adhesive can be cured at room temperature and provides fast bonding, reducing cycle time. In addition, DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast curing adhesive can establish a strong and reliable bond between a variety of different materials (including glass and metal, glass and painted metal, and glass and plastic).
Dow Chemical held the new DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 Fast-Cure Adhesive Webinar on April 28, entitled "Quick Assembly at Room Temperature Using New Fast-Cure Adhesive". It is hosted by Dow Technical Service and Development Scientist Burak Akin Aksoy, Application Engineer Michael Hartmann, and European Marketing Manager Pina Beato.
Beato said: "Equipment manufacturers and manufacturers in other key industries are increasingly calling for industrial adhesives that are high performance, reliable, robust, easy to use, and promote cost savings. The new DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast curing adhesive is meeting this demand, indicating Dow is committed to providing valued customers with the cutting-edge materials they need to achieve balanced performance, better adhesion and more efficient overall business operations. "
With its fast curing speed, the high-performance DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast-curing adhesive can reach the bonding strength within five minutes. Uniform curing of the entire adhesive cross-section can increase reliability. Manufacturers can also heat to further accelerate curing. Regardless of output, the standard 2: 1 mixing ratio of DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 Fast Adhesive is easier to process and easier to use than current 5: 1 products. For products that require repositioning and bonding, a 3: 1 or 4: 1 mixing ratio can be used to extend the open time.
Beato said: "With its flexible mixing ratios, DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast curing adhesive provides the processing flexibility required by appliance manufacturers and other industries. This certified high-throughput material is suitable for a variety of end uses, This allows managers on the job site to reduce the number of products that need to be ordered, stored and processed. "
DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast-curing adhesives are available in barrels in two sizes, and do not require the use of automated equipment and will not be trapped in vertical pre-cured components. This versatile industrial material is also packed in convenient ink cartridges for easy transportation and prototyping and small batch manufacturing. Importantly, DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast curing adhesive can provide highly reliable bonding and sealing of components with different thermal expansion rates, such as connecting the inner and outer windows of the microwave oven to the frame.
In addition to ovens and stoves, DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast-curing adhesives can also bond door gaskets to refrigerators and are used to bond metal to plastic with the dishwasher base. The adhesive can also be used for the bonding of displays inside automobiles. In addition, DOWSIL ™ EA-3838 fast curing adhesive has excellent weather resistance and sunlight resistance, so it can be used as a wind turbine sealant and used to seal aircraft lights, edges and cargo doors.
