Givaudan launches 2 active beauty ingredients for the Asia Pacific market

Recently, Givaudan has collaborated with Korean biotechnology company BIO-FD & C to develop two plant active ingredients using green biotechnology: K-phyto [SC] Camellia and K-phyto [PP] GHK, which target the dry scalp The two beauty problems of skin oil. Fleury said: "Our exclusive collaboration with BIO-FD & C has unearthed the power of many plants through stem cell culture and unique plant peptides. This collaboration allows our experts to provide natural and reliable innovations for dry scalp and oily skin solution."



Among them, K-phyto [SC] Camellia is a component extracted from the plant placental cell culture of camellia. Givaudan said that this active ingredient can increase the moisture content of the scalp by 13.8%, thereby enhancing the epidermal cohesion of the scalp keratinocytes and reducing dandruff by 33.6%. It has been observed that this ingredient can also reduce erythema by 6.6%, so it has the effect of soothing the scalp. The company said that slogans containing popular plant ingredients such as camellia can increase the volume of hair care products in the Asia-Pacific region by 70%.



Another component, K-phyto [PP] GHK, is a molecule that combines plants and peptides and acts on the secretion mechanism of sebum. Clinical studies have shown that after using this ingredient for two weeks and one month, the secretion of facial sebum of volunteers decreased by 35.5% and 67.5%, respectively.



Oily skin care is the main market demand, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
