SGS food fraud database officially launched in China
Today, the first publicly released food fraud database in China is launched. The database is developed by SGS, an internationally recognized inspection, identification, testing and certification agency. This means that domestic food companies will have real-time query to obtain food fraud adulteration data and corresponding event literature information involving 38 major food categories, nearly 10,000 specific products and ingredients, and it also provides food fraud risk for the entire domestic food supply chain. Controls are infused with cardiotonics, and food fraud adulteration will be overwhelmed.
Guests attending this online conference were Dr. Li Yu, Chief Engineer of China Food Industry Association, Professor Xiong Chuanwu, Head of IFS International Excellence Standard Asia-Pacific Region Representative Office, Ms. Zhu Hongmei, Suning Tesco Carrefour's own brand quality manager, SGS Food Safety and Supply Mr. Cao Jianjun, a senior lecturer in the field of chains, and representatives of many well-known enterprises from the food industry media and food supply chain.
In recent years, driven by economic benefits, some foods, especially high-value-added foods, often exhibit counterfeiting, forgery, and sub-charging, and other frauds. These frauds, adulteration, and adulteration problems have become increasingly prominent and have serious impacts. To the health and safety of consumers. In order to strictly investigate and deal with food safety frauds, ensure food safety, and protect public health, the State has imposed strict control requirements on food fraud issues in the Food Safety Law, HACCP System Certification Basis, and other relevant laws and regulations.
In his speech, Dr. Li Yu, Chief Engineer of the China Food Industry Association, said: "According to the requirements of the International Food Safety Management System International Standard FSSC 22000 and the Global Food Safety Initiative GFSI, the first step in food fraud is to carry out food fraud vulnerability assessment, from From the accumulation of historical food fraud data to detection methods, the food fraud database developed by SGS provides a good tool for the vulnerability assessment of food supply chain companies. It is recommended that companies can actively apply scientific tools to strengthen their own food fraud prevention and control. It is also effective protection for consumers. "
"For food retail companies, there are two main difficulties in preventing food fraud and strengthening the management of private / non-owned brand suppliers. The first difficulty is the lack of historical data for vulnerability assessment. The fraud database is a good way to help companies solve this problem. Food supply chain companies can obtain complete food fraud adulteration data and corresponding event literature information from the database in real time; the second difficulty is the limitation of detection technology. Enterprises also hope that the internationally recognized inspection, identification, testing and certification organization SGS can develop more and more accurate detection technologies for the detection and identification of food fraud as soon as possible ", Ms. Zhu Hongmei, Quality Manager of Carrefour's own brand at Suning.com Mentioned in.
Professor Xiong Chuanwu, head of the IFS International Excellence Standards Asia-Pacific Representative Office, also said at the press conference: "The food fraud database developed by SGS can be used as information input for food fraud vulnerability assessment, which will help food supply chain companies to conduct scientific products. And supplier vulnerability assessment. "
As one of the main developers of the food fraud database, Cao Jianjun, a senior lecturer in the field of SGS food safety and supply chain, focused on sharing the development background and data query method of the food fraud database. Teacher Cao Jianjun said: "The food fraud database released by SGS in China this time is designed to help food companies reduce the risk of food fraud / adulteration in all aspects of R & D, procurement, production, quality and safety management, and also meet the corresponding needs for enterprises. Laws, regulations, standards and other requirements provide a real-time reference big data platform. The database carries past global food fraud / adulteration incidents, literature information and cases, and collects and organizes thousands of specific products / raw materials for food fraud, Adulterated and mixed historical data, and in-depth multi-dimensional analysis of hazard analysis, ingredient comparison, geographic heat map of EMA (economic benefit-driven food fraud) can help companies to effectively prevent and control food fraud risks.
