SI Group expands antioxidant capacity
SI Group, a producer of functional additives, announced that it has completed a capacity expansion project for amine antioxidants at its Lasalle plant in India. SI Group has increased its global antioxidant capacity by 25 percent since 2019 and will continue to push for antioxidant capacity expansion, the company said.
SI's expansion project in Jinshan, China, was completed and put into operation in March, and the previously announced US $50 million antioxidant capacity expansion project in the US is under way, according to SI Group officials.
SI Group's new production line in Lasalle, India, will produce Ethanox 4757, a octylated butyldiphenylamine antioxidant used in lubricants, greases, industrial, automotive and heat transfer fluids. Commercial products are expected to be available in the fourth quarter and will add several thousand tonnes of supply. The company's vision is to become a global functional additive giant. SI Group also recently launched the Evercycle Plastic Recycling Application Additive brand.
