EU revises definition of food additive tricalcium phosphate

According to the Official Journal of the European Union, on June 10, 2020, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) No. 2020/763 amending the content of the food additive Tricalcium Phosphate, and amending Regulation (EU) No 231/2012 Annex II and Annex III. The specific amendments are as follows:
 
In the annex to Regulation (EU) No 231/2012, the definition in the entry “E 341 (iii) tricalcium phosphate” is replaced by the following:

Definition:
Tricalcium phosphate is composed of a mixture of different calcium phosphates. These calcium phosphates are obtained by neutralizing the reaction of phosphoric acid with calcium hydroxide or calcium carbonate. Their composition is similar to 10CaO·3P2O5·H2O.
