Covestro starts NDI production in Thailand
Covestro recently started producing naphthalene diisocyanates (NDIs) for Vulkolan® at its new plant in Map Ta Phut, Thailand. This investment is one of several investments by Covestro in cast polyurethane raw materials.
Sucheta Govil, Chief Commercial Officer of Covestro, said: "We believe in the growth of the foundry elastomers market and want to meet the growing demand. ”
The new plant in Thailand currently employs more than 25 people. Elastomers produced from raw materials are suitable for a variety of applications, including forklift wheels, roller coaster wheels, couplings and seals for the engineering industry. Covestro broke ground for the plant in late 2020.
