Growth rate of propylene production capacity increased in 2020
As of the end of 2019, according to monitoring, the total production capacity of propylene in mainland China has exceeded 40 million tons. In 2019, the new production capacity of propylene is 4.1007 million tons, an increase of 11.43% from the previous month, and the growth rate of propylene production capacity has increased. From the perspective of production technology, the coal-to-olefin technology has a new capacity of 158 tons, accounting for 38.5%. Propane dehydrogenation process was put into production up to 1,498,700 tons. In addition, this year, the country's first light hydrocarbon comprehensive utilization project was put into operation, namely Xinpu Chemical's 1.1 million tons/year ethylene propane mixed cracking olefin plant.
In 2020, there are many new domestic propylene production capacity, of which the proportion of emerging process (PDH) production capacity has increased, MTO and traditional oil-to-olefins have also increased, ethane/propane cracking projects have begun to take the stage, and the propylene process diversification has Further development. Before the draft, due to the continuous impact of the domestic and foreign epidemics in the previous two quarters, the launch of new domestic propylene production capacity was repeatedly pushed back, and part of the construction period was postponed. Only Dalian Hengli Petrochemical (600346) and Jilin Cornell Chemical were put into operation. The supply of domestic propylene commodities is limited. More projects are planned to be gradually put into operation in the third quarter, and the new production capacity of the downstream propylene industry has also been released, and will continue to increase production in the upstream and downstream industry chain.
