IIBEC to Host Virtual Convention

The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants is hosting its first-ever virtual trade show in the coming weeks.

The IIBEC 2020 Virtual International Convention and Trade Show is set to take place June 12-14 and was set up in place of an in-person event in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

All 24 previously planned educational sessions, as well as an opening sessions and virtual trade show are provided to registrants.

The IIBEC notes that everyone previously registered for the annual convention is automatically registered for the live virtual event June 12-14. Attendees will have access to the virtual trade show until July 15 to allow extended time to view every education session offered during the virtual event.

“Instead of catching a few of the previously scheduled concurrent sessions, participants will be able to attend each of the sessions and all of the trade show booths from the comfort of their own homes and offices,” the IIBEC said in a statement.

“Exhibitors can connect directly with their customers through live chat. Outside of the designated trade show hours, the live chat feature will turn into an email that goes directly to the exhibitor. Full registrants will also receive digital proceedings including papers from all of the educational sessions.”

In addition to the virtual convention, the IIBEC’s Building Enclosure Symposium+ is still slated for Nov. 20-22 at the Marriott Marquis Houston, in Texas.

“The pandemic has made IIBEC more resilient and innovative,” said IIBEC President Scott Hinesely, RRC, PE. “The virtual convention and trade show will highlight that. And the building envelope consulting community can look forward to interacting face to face at the BES+ in the fall.”
