Branson Hosts Open Houses, Technology Showcases In California

Emerson Electric Co.'s automation brand Branson marked the opening of its eighth regional U.S. technology center and its second new location in California with open houses and technology showcases.

The laboratory in Yorba Linda offers product demonstrations and application development services for the entire range of Branson technology, said Tim Herren, western regional manager for the California facilities in Yorba Linda and Fremont.

Branson began occupying the 5,300-square-foot Yorba Linda offices, lab and warehouse in June 2017, and hosted an introductory series of showcases and open houses March 13-15. Southern California members of the Society of Plastics Engineers were among the March 13 attendees.

The 500-square-foot lab is equipped with ultrasonic, spin and thermal welders for plastics. A 400-square-foot conference room is designed to accommodate training seminars for up to 16 people.

Branson's presence in Southern California goes back to the early 1980s, initially in the City of Industry and, since 1997, in a San Dimas location that was vacated in June.

In Northern California, Branson began occupying the 2,100-square-foot Fremont site in June. Branson employs three in Fremont and seven in Yorba Linda.

Among the demonstrations in Yorba Linda, Branson showed a laser welder that it manufactures in Honeoya Falls, N.Y. The equipment can provide a simultaneous weld of the same or compatible dissimilar resins.

Publicly traded technology and engineering firm Emerson of St. Louis acquired Branson Ultrasonics Corp. of Danbury, Conn., in 1984.

Branson is scheduling customer meetings May 7-11 at NPE2018 (Booth W3763) to discuss specific needs and is organizing another technology showcase in its Sterling Heights, Mich., location in June.
