Sika will open a new factory in Chongqing
Sikka will open a new plant in Chongqing to produce liquid film and mortar. Chongqing is a city of 30 million people in southwest China. By opening the new plant, Sika is expanding its presence in the fast-growing metropolitan area, which will become even more important as China is creating a Chengdu-Chongqing business district with nearly 100 million residents.
The automotive, finance and logistics sectors are well represented in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, while the construction sector has also benefited from these businesses and companies' efforts to achieve more sustainable production.
With its new state-of-the-art plant in the region, Sika will be well positioned to meet the growing demand for high quality, sustainable products in the construction industry and will greatly expand its capacity. This investment underscores Sika's commitment to staying close to its customers and delivering the best product solutions and services locally.

Infrastructure investment is driving growth in China's construction sector
China's construction industry is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 4.5% over the next three years. As part of its current five-year plan, Beijing is focusing on expanding transport and energy infrastructure, and will invest SFr8tn in technology and infrastructure projects over the next few years.
