An outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic influenza A has occurred in Israel
According to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), on 22 December 2022, the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported to WOAH an outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic influenza A in Israel.
According to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), on 22 December 2022, the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported to WOAH an outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic influenza A in Israel.
The outbreak is in the Northern Region and was confirmed on 30 November 2022. The source of the outbreak is unknown or uncertain. Clinical and laboratory tests revealed that one sandpiper became ill and died.
The outbreak is not yet over and the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will submit weekly follow-up reports.
