According to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), on 23 December 2022, the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported to WOAH an outbreak of highly pathogenic influenza A (H5) in Norway.

According to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), on 23 December 2022, the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported to WOAH an outbreak of highly pathogenic influenza A (H5) in Norway.
The outbreak was confirmed on 23 December 2022 in the city of Tromso in Tromss-Finmark. The source of the outbreak is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory tests found that one white-tailed eagle became ill and died.

As the outbreak continues, the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food will submit weekly follow-up reports.
