Shiseido launches 100% plant-based biodegradable lip gloss palette
Japanese beauty giant Shiseido Group will launch a limited sale of lip gloss trays in environmentally friendly packaging at the core brand SHISEIDO Tokyo flagship store SHISEIDO GLOBAL FLAGSHIP STORE on November 1 this year.
The environmentally friendly material used this time comes from the biodegradable polymer PHBH developed by Kanaka, Japan. Shiseido is also the world's first beauty group to use this patented material. PHBH is a 100% plant-derived biopolymer, which is certified to decompose naturally in sea water, soil and other environments.
The Shiseido Group reached a cooperation with Kanaka in April 2019 to jointly develop environmentally friendly products. This collaboration incorporates Kanaka's unique material development technology and Shiseido Group's long-standing expertise in cosmetic container development.
Shiseido Group pointed out that in 2019, the group formulated the vision of "BEAUTY INNOVATIONS FOR A BETTER WORLD", aiming to become a company that can continue to grow in the next 100 years and actively implement sustainable strategies. As an important part of the strategy, the Group actively collaborates with external companies on the basis of its own technology to jointly develop beautiful, easy-to-use, and environmentally friendly products in an effort to minimize environmental impact.
