Topsoe partners with BASF to optimize synthetic ammonia production technology

A few days ago, Topsoe said that they have reached an agreement with BASF to combine different products into a solution to help synthetic ammonia producers better optimize production. The two parties will use BASF's OASE production simulation tool to combine with Topsoe's Clear View synthetic ammonia data service business to optimize customers' ammonia production.

Topsoe Connected Services data director Michael Fjording said that for many years, BASF has been the preferred supplier of carbon dioxide removal technology for many of Topsoe's synthetic ammonia projects. This cooperation will provide a complete data connection service for the synthetic ammonia plant.

Glenn Langguth, head of BASF's global OASE business management/natural gas processing department, said that OASE products have always played an important role in the design of carbon dioxide removal devices for synthetic ammonia plants. The new combined solution can help synthetic ammonia plants optimize production.

Not long ago, the NEOM green hydrogen production facility in Saudi Arabia began construction. The project plans to invest 5 billion US dollars and will use Topsoe's mature ammonia technology. The project will design and build the world's largest green ammonia circuit, the scale of which is equivalent to that of the Gulf of Mexico ammonia project in Texas, USA. Both use Topsoe ammonia technology.
