500 products, including Chlorantraniliprole, were approved for registration in China
According to ICAMA, there are a total of 500 newly approved products registrations in China in 2022, including 290 field pesticide products, 192 only for export products and 18 sanitary insecticides. Overall, this is a far difference from 2,884 in 2021. It is believed that with the improvement of the environment, the pesticide industry will also usher in new opportunities in 2023.
In 2022, 290 new field pesticide products were registered, with 96 herbicides being the largest. Fungicides are comparable to insecticides. See the following figure for details.

Among the 290 products, a large number of registered active ingredients were 2, 4-D, 24-Epibrassinolide, 28- high Brassinolide, 2-Methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid, Avermectin and so on.
Among the 290 products, the largest number of formulation was SC (80 in total), SL (40), TC & TK (35), EC, OD, and WG (more than 20), and special formulations such as FU, Tab (1) were less. The detailed distribution of formulations was shown in the figure below.

In 2022, 192 products were approved for export only, of which half were herbicides and about a quarter were insecticides. See the following figure for details.

Among 192 products specially for export, a large number of registered ingredients are 2,4-D, Emamectin benzoate, Abamectin, Chlorimuron-ethyl technical, Glyphosate, Glufosinate-ammonium, Imidacloprid, Spiroxamine, Haloxyfop-P-methyl, Fipronil. Among the 192 products, the formulation with the largest number of registered products was EC, with 49, followed by SL 42, 30 SC, 26 WG, SE, EW and 1 GJ, as shown in the following figure.

In 2022, only 18 sanitary insecticides were registered, and the active ingredients were mainly Dinotefuran, Pyriproxyfen, Bifenthrin. The formulations distribution of 18 products was relatively dispersed, as shown in the following figure.

In terms of the number of registered products, there is a certain increase in the number of export products in 2022 compared with that in 2021. The number of field pesticide products and public health insecticides is much higher than 2,467 in 2021 and 298 in 2021, almost only reaching about 10%. However, it can be believed that the pesticide enterprises can go forward, survive the difficulties, 2023 will usher in the dawn of hope.
