After Sipcam Agro USA acquired the US plant, it quickly laid out to strengthen the North American agrochemical production capacity
Sipcam Agro Solutions, a subsidiary of Sipcam Agro USA, announced the expansion of a 12,000-square-foot fungicide and insecticide formulation and packaging facility in Waynesboro, Mississippi. This decision is a direct result of the successful acquisition of the assets of Mississippi-headquartered Odom Industries in December 2023.
Brent Marek, chief executive officer and chief operating officer of Sipcam Agro USA, said the company plans to make a significant investment in the new plant aimed at increasing production efficiency and output, while adding a new fungicide line.
The expansion project will use advanced automation technology and new production equipment to support the production of soluble concentrate (SC) and cream concentrate (EC) in various package sizes. In addition, the company will strengthen existing bulk tank farms to optimize the storage and sale of bulk products.
Marek stressed that the new plant will significantly increase Sipcam's production integration in the field of fungicides and insecticides, and provide customers with additional processing capacity. The new facility will have the capacity to produce high-quality SC and is expected to begin production in fall 2024. Sipcam Agro Solutions plans to launch third party operations in February 2025 in preparation for further capacity expansion.
The Sipcam Agro USA plant manager revealed that the company has reintegrated with its group partners to have a wide range of active ingredients (AI) globally and synthetic and formulation plants in several countries. The expanded facility will enable Sipcam Agro to achieve full integration from synthesis to formulation and packaging, manufacture end-use products, and offer custom processing services to existing and new customers.
